Things to assess for a successful product launch –

  1. Have a clear marketing objective and KPI
  2. Understand the what and the why – refer to understanding the problem for a pre-requisite assessment
  3. Understand company mission and product Vision
  4. Understand the target customer – this is crucial for product positioning and to optimize advertising budget.
  5. Understand product differentiators – make sure to leverage the company’s brand position/strength as well
  6. Understand the market and competitors

Porter’s 5 forces is a great way to assess this:

7. Partners and Distribution, if relevant – understanding of all stakeholders required and logistics

8. Other considerations – localization, regulations, buying power in a new market/country, local culture, legal, PR, office space, internet infra, customer service
